Heading into the Coke Zero 400, Brad Keselowski had 4 wins at restrictor-plate race tracks but they were all at Talladega Superspeedway. This is Bad Brad’s first ever victory at the Daytona International Speedway. This is also Team Penske’s 100th Sprint Cup Series victory as a company. Below are highlights and turn by turn action from the Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway Race recapped by the Last Lap Insider.

Green Flag, Carl Edwards, the pole sitter, leads the pack into Turn 1.

Lap 4/160, cars are already three-wide battling for position. Carl Edwards continues to lead on the bottom trying to fight off Brad Keselowski for the lead.

Lap 21/160, Landon Cassill rolled to a stop entering Turn 1 due to a battery issue. This served as the competition caution. Brad Keselowski is the leader.

Lap 26/160, Brad Keselowski leads on the restart after the competition caution. During pit stops, Jimmie Johnson had “too many men over the wall.” He had to come back down pit road for a penalty.

Lap 29/160, Greg Biffle and Brad Keselowski are side by side battling for the lead. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 17th.

Lap 68/160, green flag pit stops have begun. Danica Patrick gets a penalty for “driving through too many pit stalls.” Brad Keselowski cycles out to be the leader with Kyle Busch second and last night’s Xfinity Series race winner Aric Almirola third.

Lap 90/160, It’s the big one! Jamie McMurray got a bump from Jimmie Johnson sending the #1 car driven by Jamie McMurray into Kyle Larson. The contact with Larson cut McMurray’s tire. Once his tire went flat he had no chance on saving his car. McMurray slid back up the track entering Turn 1 collecting numerous other cars. Nearly half the field was collected in this accident. Brian Scott, Jamie McMurray, Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Regan Smith, Paul Menard, Martin Truex Jr, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Greg Biffle, Ryan Newman, Danica Patrick, Kasey Kahne, Michael Annett, Matt Kenseth, Chris Buescher, and Kevin Harvick are all involved in the big one. There were 22 cars in total involved in the wreck.

Lap 102/160, green flag is back in the air with Joey Logano leading Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards.

Lap 131/160, with 29 laps to go, the caution comes out for debris.

Restart with 26 laps to go, Kyle Busch is the leader at the moment with Brad Keselowski 2nd.
12 laps to go, Tony Stewart has a tire go down driving into Turn 1 causing him to hit the wall collecting Ryan Blaney, Casey Mears and Carl Edwards.

Lap 155/160, 5 laps to go, AJ Allmendinger gets into the wall causing the drivers behind him to check up. Ryan Blaney got into Carl Edwards sending the #19 into the wall. Bobby Labonte was also involved.

Because the caution had come out for Carl Edwards crashing with 5 laps to go, there would be a green-white-checkered finish. Brad Keselowski was the leader on the restart and had to hold off Joey Logano, Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch in order to win the Coke Zero 400. While the pack came to the finish line, Joey Logano got loose coming off Turn 4 forcing him to get into the back bumper of Kurt Busch’s Chevrolet. Kurt Busch spun through the infield grass tearing up his front bumper. Brad Keselowski went on to take the checked flag.
