Our Twitter friends weighed in on a few hot topics in NASCAR and what they shared was nothing short of a wake-up call about the sport we love. We talked about the 8 drivers left in the playoffs and people shared which driver eliminated was the most shocking. Of course pondering how Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott are still keeping there playoff hopes alive was discussed. NASCAR’s never-ending rules (new and dumb) got people talking.
Below are links to our top Twitter questions this week and also a few responses. Every Monday, we will host a #NASCARTalk Twitter party at 12:00 PM PST / 3:00 PM EST. Join us for some NASCAR talk. A1: Kenseth. The figured he had it made until wreck – then the to many men over the wall penalty. Rules are rules but I think that's weak.
— Greg Clark (@gclarktweets2) October 23, 2017
Kyle Larson with that engine blowing up, he seemed to be destined for Homestead. but goes to show things happen.
— Patrick R. Dron (@patrickdron78) October 23, 2017
Kyle Larson surprised me the most. I didn't think an engine failure would take him out of it.
— Jonathan Thiebaud (@Jtbaud249) October 23, 2017
Kyle Larson, he has had such an amazing season and to miss out on the next round because of what happened was such a disappointment!
— Tiffany (@tiffanyshandell) October 23, 2017
It's obviously Larson, but Kenseth was a big loss too! He'd been in good form leading into the playoffs and was a shame to see him bow out!
— Jason Rodgers (@JRodgers_9) October 23, 2017
Larson. Enough said.

Question 2: Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott playoff hopes are still alive. Who has a better chance of becoming a young champion? #NASCARTalk

Answers:
A2: Blaney has a better chance of the two. Elliott is yet to win a race. I believe you need to win in the Round of 8 to make Homestead.
— Daily NASCAR Scoop (@NASCARDaily) October 23, 2017
Blaney. However, Chase will run well but dumb shit happens to him
— Harvick4TheCup30 (@ScottyStyles29) October 23, 2017
Chase Elliott
— Nick Foligno #1 Fan (@becky_elsen) October 23, 2017
A2: Toss up for me both have been quite strong this season.
— Larry Lee (@lblee58) October 23, 2017
I see both having great chances! But I think both need to get a win in order to advance to the final four.
— Tiffany (@tiffanyshandell) October 23, 2017
Question 3: Hate it or love it, each week there is a new rule. What’s by far the dumbest rule in NASCAR? #NASCARTalk

Answers:
A3: Probably practice penalties. Most of these cars are already setup before they unload.
— Kenneth Lee (@FrontRowKenny) October 23, 2017
Seems to be alot of them these days. The 7th man while the car is on the 5 min clock getting fixed means instant DQ is probably the dumbest.
— Jonathan Thiebaud (@Jtbaud249) October 23, 2017
I find that whole clock business a little weird.
— Greg Clark (@gclarktweets2) October 23, 2017
I would love to have a copy of the rule book. #NASCAR
— Daily NASCAR Scoop (@NASCARDaily) October 23, 2017
#NASCARTalk Allowing teams to add lug nuts outside the pit box. It wasn't even an official rule.
— Frank Pozen (@frankp316) October 23, 2017
Question 4: Is it time for NASCAR to rethink the playoff format AGAIN? If so, why? Should drivers go home after they are eliminated? #NASCARTalk

I like the original system that awarded you for your body of work throughout the entire year. First race is just as important as the last
— Smitty (@wrongIneveram) October 23, 2017
Blow it all up – get rid of the playoffs, Chase, or whatever other contrived bullshit they want. Then take away Toyotas massive advantage.
— RealSports&MovieGuru (@TheRealSportsG2) October 23, 2017
I think they should limit the amount of playoff points you can have / they reset to 0 every round in the playoffs
— Incredicast Podcast (@Incredicast) October 23, 2017
Honestly, I'd quite like to see NASCAR go back to a non-playoff format, but with stage points! It'll never happen, but a boy can dream!
— Jason Rodgers (@JRodgers_9) October 23, 2017
They just need to make it to where fans can interact with it and make it very simple for us to follow already a mess with the rules

Question 5: If you could only go to one race which track are you going to and why? #NASCARTalk

A5: Road America. It's one of the best road courses in the USA IMO. I love road course racing. #NASCAR
— Daily NASCAR Scoop (@NASCARDaily) October 23, 2017
A5: Martinsville, first track I watched a race. September 68, King Richard Petty won.

I'd love to see the cup series up in Wisconsin at road America

I so very badly want to go to Martinsville. 📎 #HallowedGround #NASCARTalk

Fan Question: We rarely talk Xfinity Series, but @NASCARDaily wants to know what you thought about the race finish involving Jones and Bell?

Answers:
glad to see Bell win and Jones did was just dirty driving
— Kirk Wilson (@KirkWilson12) October 24, 2017
You're always upset when you lose. Bell put a nice dirt move on a pavement racer.
— Zach (@ZachCasto20) October 23, 2017
TBH I felt like that in anger over Bell's slidejob, Erik legit tried to wreck Bell by mashing the gas and crashing into him. 👎
— Uncharted LostLegacy (@DGIvey20_42_4) October 23, 2017
I thought Jones couldn't race in Xfinity from the Richmond to the end of the season? Or is it just Homestead Cup drivers can't run?
— Zane Taylor (@ZaneTaylor33) October 23, 2017
CBell did nothing wrong. Jones made the decision to go high. Bell closed that door when he passed the 20. Jones should've cut low or let off & stayed outta the fence. #NASCAR
