NASCAR fans are fickle. They have a lot of opinions, but what is always clear is that they are sincere in their beliefs. Some say that NASCAR fans are hard to please. We say it’s just the NASCAR way. We asked the hard questions and fans weighed in. We wanted to know who are NASCAR’s villains and good guys. We also wanted to know why fans seem to dislike Ryan Newman.
Below are links to our top Twitter questions this week and also a few responses. Every Monday, we will host a #NASCARTalk Twitter party at 12:00 PM PST / 3:00 PM EST. Join us for some NASCAR talk. Question 1: Ryan Newman did not finish the Sunday’s race. Fans responded with a lot of negativity. Is it fair? Do you dislike Newman? #NASCARTalk

A1: It wasn’t karma. Newman has a job to do. Drive the race car. I dont have a problem with him. There’s not a story here. #NASCAR

A1: Honestly, lots of fans are negative. I'm used to it so there's no surprise. I try to be positive and lead by example. #NASCAR
— Daily NASCAR Scoop (@NASCARDaily) October 9, 2017
A1: I have no issue w/ Newman. If anything, I'm sympathetic. RCR cars are weak.
— Greg Clark (@gclarktweets2) October 9, 2017
Definitely neutral when it comes to Newman. I like he’s aggressive, but I don’t like his attitude. Yet you need the attitude sometimes.

I like Newman, No

Not fair at all

Question 2: As @NASCARDaily stated NASCAR fans can be negative. Will this change? Is NASCAR broken? Can it be fixed? Is it beyond repair #NASCARTalk

A2: NASCAR has its issues, as does all sports. People have to change. I haven't watched in close to 3 years ti'll I started chatting here.
— Greg Clark (@gclarktweets2) October 9, 2017
NASCAR has had it's issues over the last several years but no sport out there is perfect, things changes, times change even in sports.
— Patrick R. Dron (@patrickdron78) October 9, 2017
A2: I personally think it's unavoidable. Doesn't matter what sport it is, there's always a positive side and a negative side.
— Kenneth Lee (@FrontRowKenny) October 9, 2017
#NASCAR is fine. People need to relax
— Harvick4TheCup30 (@ScottyStyles29) October 9, 2017
I personally don’t think this will ever change! No matter the sport you will never be able to make every single fan happy.
— Tiffany (@tiffanyshandell) October 9, 2017
Fans of any sport are negative. I think we’ll find out how much trouble NASCAR is in when it comes TV contract renewal time.

Question 3: @JeanerBean677 believes NASCAR needs “villains” as much as “good guys.” Name that villain and your favorite good guy. #NASCARTalk

good guy: @MartinTruex_Jr villian: Kyle Busch.
— Patrick R. Dron (@patrickdron78) October 9, 2017
Q3: Brad is a villian, he talks out of the side of his face like cousin Carl used to. Kasey is an all around good guy.
— Charlie Bowles (@CharlieBowles6) October 9, 2017
For me, Kyle Busch is a villan. He’s a badass racer, no doubt. I just don’t like his whinyness & attitude. I like A LOT of the drivers, but
— jmp (@JeanerBean677) October 9, 2017
I’ve been a Jr fan for quite some time. I never planned to be, it just kind of happened. Grew up in a family of Earnhardt haters, /Ford

Question 4: A lot happened during Sunday’s race. Kurt had a moment w/ Larson, Jimmie’s pit, Kyle’s heatstroke, and Truex Jr. won. What stuck out?

When someone hits the deck and the medics start running out… Rowdy had me worried there for a moment.
— Greg Clark (@gclarktweets2) October 9, 2017
They’re all equally important. Kurt showed how much he’s grown. Jimmie showed how much NASCAR ❤️s him, Kyle showed how tough it is to drive.
— Michelle Cison (@chellebean316) October 9, 2017
A4: I’d probably say the dilemma with Jimmie Johnson’s pit stop. There were some odd incidents with safety & officiating.
— Kenneth Lee (@FrontRowKenny) October 9, 2017
That there was no penalty to Jimmie for adding lug nuts out of the pit box. This will take on a life of its own.
— Frank Pozen (@frankp316) October 9, 2017
I liked the moment between Larson and Kurt!

Question 5: Hendrick motorsports unveiled their 2018 pain schemes. Which of the two new young drivers will win a Cup race first? Why? #NASCARTalk

A5: I think Byron will have a successful career and it will be interesting to watch Bowman compete in Hendrick equipment full-time. #NASCAR
— Daily NASCAR Scoop (@NASCARDaily) October 9, 2017
Bowman possibly because he’s ran in cup before, Byron’s first race I believe will be the Daytona 500 and that won’t be easy for him.
— Patrick R. Dron (@patrickdron78) October 9, 2017
@AlexBRacing has Cup experience and has faced more adversity, so I think he wins first, but WillyB will be successful too.
— Michelle Cison (@chellebean316) October 9, 2017
I voted for Bowman. Byron probably has the most potential, but it said a lot about Alex when he jumped in an Xfinity car and won Saturday!
— Jason Rodgers (@JRodgers_9) October 9, 2017
I’m gonna go with my gut and say Bowman!
