This week’s Twitter chat was all about the polls. While many NASCAR fans who took part in one of our #NASCARTalk polls agreed Kurt Busch had a point about NASCAR missed calls at the end of the race in Talladega, some voted “hell no” to get behind the racing we witnessed at the Superspeedway.

He has a point on the extra lap, but the caution is a tough call. It depends on drivers window nets being down, and radio communication. I think they did the right thing in this case. He was in the heat of the moment and well spoken, Gotta give him credit for that!

A1. I live in the central part of Ontario, Canada. We very rarely get to see a NCWTS race. It was on Fox this weekend, so we watched. There was a start inconsistency in the late race cautions (or no caution). Kurt lost, but wasn't wrong either.
— Graydon Bunn (@SmoothOper88or) October 16, 2018
A1: every sport needs consistancy but sometimes it comes down judgement calls and Kurt had the forefront to speak out about it
— Patrick R. Dron, Martin and Ryan Truex fan (@patrickdron78) October 15, 2018
A1: I think Kurt Busch has a point. As a professional sport, you want to make consistent calls. Truck race ended under caution, but Cup race stayed green to the checkered flag.
It's hard for NASCAR to make split second decisions. Lots of factors play a role. #NASCAR

A1: He has a point but could they have went back to green sooner probably. The caution could go either way they wasted no time throwing it Saturday. ♂️

Question 2: We saw a different type of racing at Talladega. Cars were spread out, there was single file racing a good portion of the race, and only one car had a DNF. Can you get behind this type of racing at Talladega in the future? Yes? No? Thoughts? #NASCARTalk

A2: I think the rules changes for next year arw going to make it a bigger mess. The racing was good. SHR teamwork was top notch all day.

It’s always good to get the unexpected to see how teams adapt to what’s going on and see if they can overcome.
— ryan goodrum (@ryan_goodrum) October 15, 2018
Race was a bit of a fluke. SHR found just a bit extra HP and something in setup. They could stay low where others couldn't, and we're just a touch quicker. It happens from time to time

A2. I wasn't kidding about napping thru the majority of stage 2. Races don't need to be a wreck fest, and I understand being single file and spaced out is 'safe'. I think the length of the races need to be looked at. Lop 100-150 miles off. Therefore stage lengths will be affected
— Graydon Bunn (@SmoothOper88or) October 16, 2018
I think we saw 1 team that was very good. They were spread out from the field, back in the pack it was busy all day. It's occasionally cool 2 see. We hear about the cars all running the same speed and teams can't gain edge. Not yesterday! Here and there it's cool progress to see.

Question 3: Someone on @NASCARonReddit asked, “Unpopular opinion: Daniel Suarez and Erik Jones should have stayed in trucks longer.” What are your thoughts?
Better yet, name one driver that you believe should be in the Xfinity Series and not Cup? #NASCARTalk

Answers:
Maybe not trucks so much. Maybe they could have spent more time in the Xfinity series. Idk, if you spend too much time in the trucks you tend to pick up bad habits.
— Jonathan Thiebaud (@Jtbaud249) October 16, 2018
A3: I think that's a horrible take. Suarez is a proven race winner and Xfinity Series champion. He was put in a bad situation when Carl Edwards abruptly retired. Jones is a good talent as well. I see him winning multiple races in the future. #NASCAR
— Kobe Lambeth (@KobeLambeth) October 16, 2018
A3: I don’t think so. Jones and Suarez were ready. Both are talented.
— ryan goodrum (@ryan_goodrum) October 15, 2018
A3: Jones has a win now Suarez should have he been in trucks longer then a years? perhaps but when someone offers a Cup ride, too tempting to turn down.
— Patrick R. Dron, Martin and Ryan Truex fan (@patrickdron78) October 15, 2018
Bowman and Byron. They're good drivers no doubt. I just think another season would have been beneficial.

Question 4: Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, and Aric Almirola have won a playoff race. Do you think one of the “Big 3” will win the championship? If so, who? If not, who? Tweet us your championship winning driver. #NASCARTalk

A4. I think the champ is coming out of one of the big 3. Not really sure who, but Harv is bulletproof at some upcoming tracks that come at a good time in the playoff schedule for him. My gut says 4. Right now. #NASCARTalk
— Graydon Bunn (@SmoothOper88or) October 16, 2018
A4: Would love to see Larson get to the final 4 but they just aren’t there as a team yet. Harvick is the 1 who will win the Championship.
— Mick Rose (@GoDucks42_mick) October 16, 2018
A4: I think Kevin Harvick will win the championship. #NASCAR

Question 5: Yesterday Jenna Fryer took to Twitter and voiced her issues with NASCAR. While some fans agreed, she also received a lot of backlash. If you could change one thing about NASCAR what would it be? Be honest and don’t hold back. #NASCARTalk

LOL be consistent with their calls. It's totally BS. I can see why fans are leaving in droves. It is a sad state of affair for drivers and fans.
— MO_Outlaw41 (@MO_Outlaw41) October 16, 2018
It’s been quiet Lately but if I could change one thing. It’s: if your illegal after the finish , you are stripped of the win, points and cash
— John Moughan (@jjmracing) October 16, 2018
I would get rid of the splitter and the giant side skirts.
— Jonathan Thiebaud (@Jtbaud249) October 16, 2018
The cost to participate and the fan experience. If it's cheaper more sponsors can afford it. Fan experience. How many tracks have garbage wifi, expensive food, and hotels are nowhere to be found. I'm 22, I want to post my day there on social media.
Better, but still needs work.— Bill Steinbach III (@bill_steinie3) October 16, 2018
Honestly, I’m pretty tired of how much the cars/trucks are skewed out. I understand it’s the teams doing everything they can aero wise, but for me it has gotten tiresome to look at.
