Our weekly #NASCARTalk took a turn when we posted one simple question — “You are suddenly a NASCAR Cup Series team owner and need to hire four drivers – who do you pick?” Sure, we discussed other topics like NASCAR’s new Big 3 and shortening the schedule, but it was the thought of assembling a team that got most fans hyped.
This question comes from @NASCARonReddit. “You are suddenly a NASCAR Cup Series team owner and need to hire four drivers – who do you pick?” #NASCARTalk

A4: (I know I'm a little late, but I had to) @mattdracing @J_Allgaier @Brett_Moffitt @chaseelliott the team of unappreciated drivers who could all win given the right opportunity (and chase Elliot, it was a toss up between he and bowman, but ill keep bowman in the 88)

A4: @KyleBusch @KyleLarsonRacin @Blaney @erik_jones

Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney. Matt Kenseth in charge of driver development. Dale Jr in charge of talent identification.

A4: Now this is a fun one! I’ll take Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace, Ryan Blaney & Christopher Bell
— Kenneth W Lee Jr. (@FrontRowKenny) July 23, 2018
To win now, gotta go with Harvick, Truex.Jr, Keselowski and Kyle Busch. But to build a team of young guns. Then I want Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece and Bubba Wallace.

A series of tweets from @DECSRacing got us thinking. What do NASCAR fans REALLY think about the fact that a “Big Three” driver won again? What say you? Thoughts? #NASCARTalk

A1: Well, I think its better than just one guy running away with it. I was hoping the 42 would be up there mixing it up so all three mfgs would be represented.

I think it's fine. When the competition gets tired of hearing about it they'll step up their game and try to beat them. People just like to complain. They're tired of this driver winning or that driver doesn't deserve the championship Cuz he only won 1 race. Blah blah blah
— loose lugnut (@Loose_lug_nut) July 23, 2018
A1 I’m not a fan of any of the big 3 drivers but have no issue with them winning. Teams have to step up what they got, and go out and beat them and change the conversation. Until then the big 3 will dominate the headlines.

Will fans be ok with the current playoff format if the Big 3 all make it to Homestead but the plus 1 wins the championship” – @GoDucks42_mick #NASCARTalk

Normal fans who dont hold a vendetta against the big 3, like me, would hate it-theres a reason theyre called the "big 3", theyve been the best in the sport this year. Fans who hate them for one reason or another, well, thats most likely the only outcome they'll accept.
— Brock Rowe (@BrockRowePFR) July 23, 2018
As someone who thinks a one-race winner take all format is asinine, it would be a travesty unless that fourth is able to click off a bunch of wins himself.
— Jeff Woods (@thenascarfix) July 23, 2018
A2: yeah I'll be fine with it with a plus one I'd like to see the defending champion try and repeat as champ.

It is that time of year when fans start to question everything. @BradRush asks “is it time for NASCAR to shrink the schedule?” Will shrinking the schedule benefit NASCAR and race teams? #NASCARTalk

A3 I think some of it could be trimmed back. I don't get why we go to Pocono and Michigan twice in a 2 month period. I also am for weekday races. It would be cool to run Bristol and Martinsville in the same week.
— Jonathan Thiebaud (@Jtbaud249) July 24, 2018
A3: I would rather they get rid of the 2nd race at the 1.5 mile tracks and have more short track/road course races
— Larry Lee (@lblee58) July 23, 2018
Also giving the race teams more time to prep could give the smaller teams more time to prepare and become more competitive.
