There has been much debate in NASCAR Nation and the Twitterverse about quieter cars. We don’t know the “real” source of this proposal, but All Turns No Brakes says, “NO!” We don’t, and- will- not, entertain such foolish thoughts. Okay, now that we told you how we really feel, let’s approach this concept with a clear perspective. Should NASCAR consider such a thing? Well, maybe, possibly…NO. If there is a valid reason like safety, we are all in. If not, NO!
No one can say that NASCAR isn’t about evolution. The sport is forever changing. A case in point of NASCAR’s constant change is this year when NASCAR introduced new competition enhancement rules that include a stage-based race format and playoff point incentives; among other things.
NASCAR fans will always have something to say. NASCAR will always change something in their never-ending pursuit to enhance the sport. We hope that quieting cars is not one such enhancement. Quieter cars may send fans and drivers over the edge. We will go as far as saying, “It will quiet fans, but not in a good way.”
F1 fans are still mad about the move in 2014 to make their cars eerily quiet; considering they use such powerful race engines. Their star driver, Lewis Hamilton, was still slamming the powers to last season. If such a thing was to happen in NASCAR, it may be unforgivable. At least, we believe it would. What do you think? Leave us a comment below and share your thoughts. Make sure to listen to our next podcast where Tam and Rene will continue the discussion.

A quite race car, that's a novel idea! that loud noise coming out of your headset 6 days a week does more damage than being at the track !

@turnsnobrakes @NASCARONFOX I can't believe someone is actually complaint about it. pic.twitter.com/59eFRl7ktw

I never went to @NASCAR races to read a book in quiet while cars whistle by. I went to get my eardrums blown out by V8's at 9,500 rpms.

@turnsnobrakes @NASCARONFOX what's next??? Lattes, free WiFi, and whole grain bagels?

If NASCAR fans wanted quiet cars, they would be demanding races between a Prius and a Volt. I don't quite see that demand.

@AllWaltrip if they quiet the cars and trucks, I'm done! That's ridiculous! Been a fan of NASCAR since the late 60's. that's ridiculous

@turnsnobrakes @NASCARONFOX I disagree. Quiet them down just a bit for hearing safety. They can still be plenty loud IMO.

Quiet the cars all you want but you're going to hear this loud and clear. Clint Bowyer still hasn't won a #NASCAR race in 1,607 days

Imagine being at a concert in which the instruments are quieted & the singers are whispering. Not fun IMO.
Don't quiet the engines #NASCAR.

Just when I thought #NASCAR couldn't do anything to get ripped on social media….. Quiet cars so fans can talk? @NASCAR

You know what will make NASCAR quiet? When the series is dead in 5 years.
