Wow! Wow! Wow! Cars aren’t supposed to fly, but when they do it’s nothing short of spectacular. As NASCAR fans we have seen this time and time again. Who doesn’t remember when Austin Dillon’s car went airborne at the 2015 Daytona 500? His huge crash on the final lap was horrific, but thankfully he walked away unharmed.
With the progression of technology we see fewer cars in the air at races. From catch fences to safer barriers and roof flaps, NASCAR has done everything possible to prevent cars from going airborne. To illustrate why it happens in the first place along with the advancements in safety features to prevent such accidents, Donut Media put together a cool video with some awesome vintage footage. Check it out and let us know what you think.
